Join 2021 Cultural Thinker In Residence, Elvir Mandžukić, for a discussion about his personal story and how it inspires his 20 years of community projects. Working together with Laumeier’s 2021 In Residence Visiting Artist Aida Šehović, Mandžukić will bridge connections and develop productive partnerships with St. Louis community members through virtual and in-person conversation series events throughout the year.
This program will take place virtually on Thursday, January 21st from 6:30-8:00pm CDT. Reservations are required to receive access. To register, please visit this link.
Laumeier’s Cultural Thinker In Residence program, launched in 2012, appoints an individual to engage with Laumeier’s programming over the course of one year. This person is typically a scholar with expertise in a field outside of art—past residents have included archaeologists, an environmental historian, and a nutritionist—to engage in interdisciplinary thinking and learning. Elvir Mandžukić, this year’s appointee, will work with Laumeier’s 2021 In Residence Visiting Artist, Aida Šehović, to explore Bosnian heritage, history, memory, and culture and to build partnerships with institutions throughout the greater St. Louis community.
