Confluence Zen Center is offering a five-session virtual course, “Introduction to Zen Meditation,” beginning February 25th. The course will stream over Zoom on Thursday evenings from 7-8:15pm and will offer participants an introduction to Zen meditation. Open to people of all faiths, the classes will include a presentation of the history of Zen and basic principles of zazen meditation, and a discussion of how to practice Zen in daily life.
Each class includes zazen meditation, beginning with 10 minutes during the first class, and working up to 30 minutes by the end of the series. You will also learn how to do walking meditation.
Classes are taught by Rev. Daigaku Rummé, a Zen priest in the Soto tradition. He is the resident priest and teacher of the Confluence Zen Center STL. The cost of the series is $40 for non-members, and $20 for members of the Confluence Zen Center.
