Now is a Good Time to Learn about The Baha’i Faith

Millions of Baha’is worldwide are preparing for major upcoming celebrations. On October 21-22, 2017, in some 100,000 localities worldwide, Baha’is will celebrate the bicentennial of the birth of Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of the Baha’i Faith.

The global festivities involving people of thousands of ethnic backgrounds is demonstrative of a key message of Bahá’u’lláh’s life and teachings: that a special time has arrived for the entire human race as it gradually moves from a stage of collective adolescence to one of maturity and wholeness. Learn more here about the St. Louis celebration of the Bicentenary (This text from stlbahais.org)

Unfortunately, Baha’is continue to be persecuted in Iran. Notably, seven leaders in the Baha’i faith, known as the “Yaran” or “Friends in Iran,” have been imprisoned without due process; recently, one of them,  Mahvash Sabet, was recently released, according to a statement from John McCain, the Chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Not only is the local Baha’i community committed to hosting a number of events to honor the bicentenary, but they are also the faith hosts for this year’s Annual Interfaith Dinner, under the leadership of Planning Committee co-chairs David Landesman and Dr. Billie Mayo.
